The form of the signs I use is important in working with the existing space. Each time it is a new area discovered and built up by me, specifically by the signs of my body, which become a kind of medium. By entering the space, I give it a new meaning, I merge it and change its character. A need arises to organise and tame the surrounding. By being in it, I thicken the area and create my own spaces, which live their lives until the moment of disassembly.
The ephemeral nature of places covered by the ‘order’ and leaving the chaos beyond its borders is a process of my search, in which I use signs created by the body. Finding areas within which there is a need for establishing meaning, marking out own space. Organising space, building and living in it has accompanied man since ancient times. In my work I focus on specific examples of the ‘meaning’ of space through the broadly understood presence of human beings in it. What is real and what is unreal today? What is the place of human beings in the world of signs or the other way around? These reflections connect to my search within which I use the body-sign in relation to or rather together with space. The realization ‘I – not I’ created in the Open Studio opens a new series entitled ‘Transformations’, in which I incidentally use inflatable forms.
Elements shaped by air, flexibly adjusting to the interior. It is like breathing in and breathing out, an attempt to stop the air. The signs formed by air change their character, they adapt freely to the formed forms.
